CALL FOR PAPERS AND BOOK-LAUNCH PROPOSALS

The Economics and Politics Research Group (EPRG) is accepting submissions of papers and book launch proposals for the joint events Fourth Latin American Workshop in Law and Economics, LAWLE 2017 and Fifth Annual Meeting of the Economics and Politics Research Group, 2017 EPRG to be held on November 16 to 18, 2017 in Brasilia, Brazil. We are looking for papers and books that cut across the fields of economics, political science, law, sociology and psychology.

Submissions of papers and book-launch proposals should be made by September 15, 2017 through the submission webpage:

Interessados estão convidados a enviar eletronicamente os trabalhos para apreciação até 31 de julho de 2017, pelo site da Economic Analysis of Law Review (na página da EALR), bastando se cadastrar como autor na revista: https://portalrevistas.ucb.br/index.php/EALR/login?source=%2Findex.php%2FEALR%2Fauthor%2Fsubmit%2F1

Também serão analisados resumos que podem ser enviados até dia 31 de julho de 2017. Os resumos podem ser enviador para o endereço eletrônico: ealr@bol.com.br e benjaminm.tabak@gmail.com.

Serão admitidos trabalhos em português, inglês e espanhol. Ao realizar a submissão pelo sistema da ADBE – inserir a opção pelo congresso da ADBE.

Os trabalhos serão avaliados pelo método double blind review, que possibilita a análise inominada, garantindo a imparcialidade da avaliação.

As submissões são limitadas a até 2 trabalhos por autor (no máximo 3 coautores por paper). A aceitação das propostas para apresentação no Congresso da ABDE será comunicada até 10 de agosto de 2017.

O Congresso será realizado em Porto Alegre nos dias 21 e 22 de setembro de 2017.

Os artigos submetidos deverão ser redigidos em texto formatado de acordo com as normas da ABNT. Os trabalhos devem também incluir um resumo em português ou espanhol e inglês, termos do assunto (palavras chaves e keywords), título em português ou espanhol e inglês, assim como Classificação JEL.

Devem se inserir nas discussões da Análise Econômica do Direito (Law and Economics), com ênfase nos seguintes temas:

Os melhores trabalhos selecionados e apresentados no Congresso da ABDE serão convidados pela Diretoria da ABDE para publicação em uma edição especial da EALR (Economic Analysis of Law Review). Os trabalhos publicados na EALR passarão pelo processo normal de peer review independente da revista.

We are pleased to announce that prof. Alberto Simpser Mondlak, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, ITAM-Political Science Department

has confirmed he will participate in LAWLE 2017.

From Prof. Alberto Simpser’s webpage:

Professor Simpser’s research examines major problems in the political economy of development, including corruption, electoral manipulation, and failures of governance and democratic accountability. His work utilizes statistical, experimental, formal, and qualitative methods. Prof. Simpser joined the faculty of ITAM (Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México) as Associate Professor in the fall of 2014. Previously, he worked as Assistant Professor of political science at the University of Chicago. He has been a residential Fellow at the Princeton Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance, and a National Fellow at the Hoover Institution. He is a Level II National Researcher in Mexico’s Sistema Nacional de Investigadores. Prof. Simpser holds a PhD degree in political science and an MA degree in economics from Stanford University, and a B.Sc. degree in engineering sciences from Harvard College.
